Foil Stamping:

The terms foil stamping, hot stamping, and foil printing typically refer to a specialized process that uses heat, pressure, and metal dies to apply specialized foil film to suitable surfaces. Foil film rolls are typically available in a wide range of colours, finishes, and optical effects. Metallic foil, such as gold, silver, or copper, is the most commonly used foil type. In addition, foiling can also be done in rich looking solid colours such as red, green, purple, blue, and black.

Embossing

Embossing:

The embossing process involves creating a raised image on a printed surface resulting in a three-dimensional effect. The embossing procedure typically requires the use of a raised die in combination with a recessed die. The two dies are designed to fit into each other and when the target material is pressed between the two dies, the raised die forces the material into the recessed die. This process creates a raised impression without damaging the targeted surface.

Spot UV:

The process of Spot UV involves applying a clear and shiny coating to specific parts of the target surface. This process creates a contrast from the surrounding areas that are typically matte laminated. Spot UV application is often used to enhance brand logos and other important images. Spot UV application is typically combined with embossing, a technique commonly referred to as UV embossing, to create vibrant and luxurious images.

Die cutting

Die Cutting:

Die cutting is a production process that utilizes specialized machines in combination with custom dies to create custom shapes during the printing process. Traditional die cutting methods utilize dies made from metal and blades that are applied to paper and cardstock surfaces in order to create the required custom cuts. Newer die cutting techniques utilize laser cutting that result in very smooth and accurate finishes. Since laser cutting does not require the use of thick metal blades, it can help create more intricate designs with a higher level of artistic detail.
